Youth and Schools

Youths in Singapore generally find it easy to put themselves in the shoes of others and are thankful for what they have, yet do not translate this belief into action, according to a recent survey by World Vision Singapore. Over 310 respondents aged 15 to 35 responded to this survey that aims to evaluate empathy and gratitude in Singapore’s youths.

Hwa Chong One Day Without Shoes (ODWS) 2015 was an advocacy cum fundraising campaign in Hwa Chong Institution (College), successfully held on May 21. Through Hwa Chong ODWS 2015, we sought to raise awareness about the plight of the poverty-stricken in Africa, consisting of men, women, and children who barely have enough money to buy food, let alone shoes.

“In your young heart lies the power to change the world.” These were the words of Mr Suresh Bartlett, National Director of World Vision Sri Lanka, at Vision Youth: Making Our Mark organised by World Vision Singapore on 17 January 2015.
