Sri Lanka Flood Response

Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency, and urgent support is needed to protect children and families caught in the path of Cyclone Ditwah. Torrential rains, rising floodwaters, and deadly landslides have devastated communities, leaving families stranded, homes destroyed, and thousands of children in danger. Many homes, schools and businesses still remain under water. Over 400 lives have been lost, more than 1 million people have been affected and thousands are displaced into temporary shelters. Almost one-third of the country is without electricity or running water.

Our Lindula Area Programme has also been severely affected by the flooding. Despite intermittent network connectivity, our teams are on the ground working tirelessly to reach children, account for their safety, and support families in urgent need. World Vision targets to support 35,000 people impacted by the floods, providing emergency relief supplies, hygiene kits, and food packs to vulnerable children and families.

Your donation today will help deliver life-saving assistance to children and families in urgent need.
