Global Emergency Response

Children's lives can change in an instant in the wake of conflict and disasters. Crises can unfold suddenly, and continue for months or even years, leaving children and families in urgent need of support. At the same time, new crises and disasters can emerge without warning. Your support to our Crisis and Disaster Response helps us respond to both. It enables us to prepare before disaster strikes by pre-positioning essential relief supplies, strengthening local response capacity and equipping our teams to act quickly when emergencies occur.

Our crisis and disaster response not only provides relief and saves lives of children. We nourish, comfort and protect children who’ve experienced violence, displacement, earthquakes, typhoons and floods. We continue to walk beside them as their communities recover and rebuild.

Provide Life-Saving Aid to Children and Families Caught in Disaster

Devastating flash floods tore through Rasuwa and Nuwakot in northern Nepal on 26 August 2026, claiming more than 600 lives, with hundreds still missing. Homes bridges and critical infrastructure were washed away in an instant, displacing families and cutting communities off from electricity, communication and essential services. Approximately 10,000 households require immediate humanitarian assistance, and an estimated 17,000 children have been affected by the floods.
