Sponsor a Child in Mongolia, Dornod

Dornod is located in the most eastern province of Mongolia. A lack of quality educational resources and insufficient dormitory facilities hinder children’s learning. Children are vulnerable to abuse and child labour such as jockeying. Alcohol addiction, single-parent households contribute to shortage of income. Insufficient healthcare services and sanitary facilities lead to the spread of diseases in the community.

Through Child Sponsorship, you can help enable children in Dornod to grow up healthy, be protected from harm, and look ahead to a brighter future.

Apple Hong, child sponsor of Otgonjargal in Dornod Mongolia on a sponsor trip

“The children here have simple desires, but even the simplest of desires such as clean water and sanitation, education and financial stability are severely lacking. The eldest son of a vulnerable family I visited, was allowed by his mum to earn a livelihood as a child jockey. He fell from the horse, injured himself and had to go to hospital, leading to a strain in the mother’s livelihood income. I really hope the support from World Vision can transform their lives.”

“We used to live in an old and run-down public apartment that was almost falling apart. Also, it was very cold and damaged.  World Vision helped us by giving us a ger, which is amazing because now we don’t have to worry about not having a warm, safe place of our own.”
