80,000 abaca seedlings for farmers' livelihood

Abaca, a hardy plant related to the banana, produces one of the strongest natural fibres in the world. It is used to make everything from rope, paper, textiles to bags.

Abaca offers resilience. Its deep root system holds the soil together, protecting communities from soil erosion and providing a steady source of income.

This gift provides 80,000 quality seedlings and equip farmers in North Cotobato, Philippines with climate-smart farming skills. With the right seedlings and knowledge, families can work towards more reliable harvests, build more resilient livelihoods and better protect their land for the future.
