Help bring life-saving support to children and families in Mindanao, Philippines
A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Mindanao on Monday, June 8, as millions of children were set to return to school for the opening of the academic year. The earthquake caused widespread damage to homes, schools, hospitals and critical infrastructure, disrupting essential services and threatening community safety. At least 46 people have died and over 400 are injured. Thousands of families have been displaced and urgently need support, including food, safe drinking water, emergency shelter, hygiene supplies, and psychosocial support, especially for children affected by trauma and ongoing aftershocks.
World Vision team is on the ground, working alongside communities to restore safety, protect children and support families. We target to reach at least 2,000 families, (approximately 8,000 individuals) in our emergency response.
