A-Mei (张惠妹) Appointed as World Vision's
30 HOUR FAMINE 2009 Ambassador

Internationally acclaimed Taiwanese artiste, A-Mei,
joins hands with World Vision Singapore to highlight
the plight of millions of children around the world who
go hungry everyday as a result of the global economic
and food crisis.

“Hunger is a daily reality for many. As crops fail and food prices soar, the poorest
populations – especially the children – are those who will be the most severely affected.

The sad thing is hunger is cyclical and if nothing is done to break that cycle; those
affected will sink into deeper poverty, poor health and much more.

That is why I feel that it is important and urgent for me to do whatever I can to
speak up and to raise awareness of this ‘disease’ that is paralyzing millions.”
