Bringing Hope to Children Living with HIV and AIDS

Never before in history have we been confronted with a humanitarian crisis of such far-reaching and devastating impact.

In 2001, UNICEF estimated that 6,000 children would lose a parent to AIDS every day. The statistics are heartbreaking, but there is hope. Together, we can lessen the pain and suffering of children and families living with HIV and AIDS.

On World AIDS Day on December 1, 2008, World Vision Singapore is launching the One Life Fund in support of children living with HIV in Singapore.

World Vision’s One Life Fund will provide education bursaries to young people in Singapore who are either infected with HIV, or who have one or both parents who are HIV-positive.

Costly medications and the loss of income add great financial strain to these often already low-income families, sometimes forcing the children to discontinue their education.

We believe in the power of education to transform lives and its importance in enabling these young people to achieve their dreams of building better and brighter futures for themselves and their families.
