Proctor & Gamble (P&G)

Proctor and Gamble (P&G) initiated a company-wide CSR program named Beyond Borders with World Vision. A community program that aims to improve the lives of underprivileged children in the region through the provision of basic needs like safe drinking water, sanitation, food, shelter and education, Beyond Borders aims to instill in Singaporean children a civic consciousness that goes Beyond Borders by helping them give to the needy children in the region in small but meaningful ways.

Through collecting old newspapers and clothing from the students from 23 primary schools and employees alike, P&G is able to impact 77,000 children from 5 of World Vision Singapore assisted programs in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

P&G employees were also highly participative through the co-presenting of school talks, taking up of child sponsorship and going on overseas community work trips with World Vision.

Daimler Chrysler

Daimler Chrysler

Global automotive company, Daimler Chrysler whose product portfolio include renowned brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler amongst many, contributed a generous Gifts-in-Kind donation worth approximately S$26,000 to World Vision International (Singapore).

The donation, consisting an assortment of boutique apparels such as winter jackets, shirts and pants will go towards benefiting the CEDC (Children in Especially Difficult Circumstances) programme supported by World Vision in Mongolia.

Giordano

Giordano

When the tsunami struck, Giordano re-launched their “World Without Strangers” campaign in support of World Vision’s work in the tsunami-affected countries and subsequently adopted World Vision as their official charity. As part of the launch of the campaign, some 100,000 wristbands were sold at 46 Giordano retail outlets. All net sales monies were donated to World Vision in aid of the tsunami affected victims as well as other poor communities supported by World Vision.
77th Street

77th Street

Avid supporter of World Vision, Ms Elim Chew, Managing Director of popular retail chain, 77th Street, is a strong advocate of our work among the poor communities in some 97 countries.

Elim sponsors a total of 25 children in the poor communities supported by World Vision. She has also personally visited our relief and development projects in Malawi and has inspired many of her working counterparts and youths to be involved in helping the poor. In 2005, Elim also served as one of the panelists at the HIV/AIDS Youth Convention, jointly organized by World Vision Singapore and Ngee Ann Polytechnic with the support of Health Promotion Board, furthering her involvement with World Vision in more ways than one!

The company has also been one of World Vision Singapore’s largest event sponsor since 2001.
The Body Shop

The Body Shop

The Body Shop gave $13,750 to build and operate a Child Friendly Centre in Bang Thao, Thailand. Child-friendly spaces provide a clean and safe environment; either in tents or building and offer children an outlet for their feelings and a chance to be kids again amidst all the chaos and destruction especially after a disaster. Through games and activities such as drawing and sports, trained counselors help children cope emotionally and to express their grief.

TNT

In their move to support World Vision’s work in the tsunami-affected countries, TNT gave 2,200 personal care kits, 2,200 education kits to school children and 1,000 water tanks (500 ltrs) to tsunami victims when they moved to temporary housing in Kilpakkam, India.
SBS Transit

SBS Transit

Local transportation provider, SBS Transit sponsored in-kind with sponsored bus transport service for 1,000 youths in World Vision’s flagship 30-Hour Famine campaign in both their community outreach program as well for the finale concert.

The 30-Hour Famine camp helps raise the awareness and understanding of Singapore youths on Hunger, Poverty, HIV/AIDS and other related issues and how these issues affect children and families in the under developed countries. Through the camp, youths are personally challenged and motivated to extend a helping hand to those in need.
KLM

KLM

International air carrier, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines gave 200 bicycles in aid to help children whose families lost their homes to the tsunami. The bicycles provided vital transport to schools.

BP

BP

British Petroleum Singapore Pte Ltd started sponsoring children through World Vision Singapore in 2002. To date, the organization continues to stay loyal to the cause and sponsors 10 children from 10 countries.

As part of the organisation’s corporate objective in employee involvement, BP sends a team of 10 staff to participate yearly in overseas community work trips in the countries, which they support.

National Library Board

National Library Board

As an event sponsor, the National Library Board provided World Vision Singapore with complimentary use of the library’s amenities and facilities. NLB also helped to publicize a region-wide advocacy photography exhibition through their library networks, which helped educate the public on issues related to global poverty.

Rasa Sentosa

Rasa Sentosa

Rasa Sentosa collaborates with World Vision Singapore regularly in a recycling program where old telephone directories and newspapers are routinely collected. All net monies from the recycling program are channeled to the poor communities supported by World Vision.

 

Care Corporation

CARE, a leading branded venture capital organisation in the business of making and sustaining new businesses, has been actively sponsoring children in poor communities supported by World Vision.

On December 22, 2007, CARE officially launched World Vision Day, which marked the start of a long-term collaboration. Since its launch, CARE has sponsored more than 18 children from Ethiopia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Philippines, Thailand, China and Cambodia.

Women’s Day Out – organized by Amore Fitness is Singapore’s largest women’s only sports event each year. Since 2004, Amore has donated the net monetary proceeds from this event to World Vision Singapore annually.

In addition, the company continues its support of World Vision by being one of World Vision’s regular event sponsors. In 2005, Amore supported two largest World Vision campaigns; 30 Hour Famine and Tree-of-Life where they gave away free membership passes and spa vouchers to every participant and new child sponsor sign-up.
 

 

Pfizer

Pfizer

Pfizer provided $229,000 worth of loans and grants that will revitalize several communities destroyed by the tsunami. The partnership helped 1,000 families set up small businesses, thereby enhancing their economic status.
Marina Square

Marina Square

A strong corporate partner in World Vision Singapore’s Tree-of-Life campaign in 2005. A glittering “life-giving tree” was set up at their newly refurbished shopping mall last Christmas, over the month of December, bearing photos of needy children whom World Vision served. Through their strong support over the one-month campaign, World Vision found sponsors for some 170 poor children and families!
Technology and IT  

Jebsen and Jessen (SEA), a leading state-of-the-art technology and products provider, has generously contributed S$50,000 to World Vision Singapore through their ‘Meet A Need’ CSR initiative.

Under the program, Jebsen and Jessen currently support 15 children in Thailand and Vietnam. Its employees across Asia are also actively involved in community work trips, having recently renovated a childcare center supported by World Vision Singapore in Thailand in end 2007.

As part of their CSR initiatives, Datacraft Asia sponsors 26 needy children through World Vision Singapore in nine countries. On a regional front, Datacraft Asia supports some 60 children worldwide and remains World Vision’s largest corporate partner in Singapore.

The company has presence in 13 countries where World Vision has ongoing projects and programmes helping the poor communities.
