“I saw many children die of diarrhoea in the village as well as in the hospital. I was so worried for my sons because they got diarrhoea one after another,” says Myint, a mother of two sons. Hein and Ko Ko are some of the many other children who live in the lowland areas of Myanmar, which experiences flooding during the rainy season, putting them at risk of water-borne illnesses.
Left only with contaminated water from the well, children like Hein often suffer from diarrhoea and life-threatening diseases. Limited accessibility and expensive transport has also hindered them from receiving the healthcare they need. This is why World Vision is stepping into the community, to provide clean water and improve healthcare.
Join us on a trip to Myanmar, Taikkyi, to visit your sponsored child for the very first time as we embark on this journey of transformation with them. Experience the impact of sharing your love with the vulnerable children and understand more about World Vision’s effort in this new community.
