Danny Yeo

Danny Yeo is a well-established media personality in Singapore, having accumulated years of rich experience in various fields starting as a radio presenter in 1990.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude in Mass Communication and Journalism/Psychology from California State University Fresno in 1997, he returned to present TV variety shows including Entertainment News and i-Entertainment, as well as acting in a sitcom titled Tuition Fever. As one of YES933’s top personalities, Danny hosted the all-important Morning Show for five years. In 2000, he was nominated for Channel 8’s Star Awards Top 20 Male Artistes. That same year, he won Most Creative Deejay at the Golden Mike Awards.

As one of UFM1003’s pioneers to launch the station in 2001, Danny was Creative and Music Director during its inception. Within three years, he innovated many quality concepts: a late-night show with counselling segment, an hour-long artiste interview programme, the world’s first radio forum theatre Pulitzer Book and a reading club called Flip-A-Book.

Since 2004, Danny has been a media lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, teaching Radio Production, Speech Communication and Presentation Skills. He was honoured with the Academic Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2006 and 2008. Other teaching stints include Singapore Management University, Singapore Media Academy and School of Management-Murdoch University’s degree programme.

A much sought-after event emcee and voice talent, Danny has also acted in Drama Box’s Mandarin theatre productions since 1994. In 2010, he received a Life Theatre Awards Best Director nomination for Bondage, a directorial debut.

Danny is a columnist for several magazines/newspapers, a star blogger for SPH’s omy.sg as well as a published author of 2 Chinese books and 3 English titles. In 2010, he wrote the Chinese dialogue for Kelvin Tong’s film “Kidnapper” and worked as scriptwriter and music supervisor for “Love Cuts” starring Zoe Tay.

His other involvements include sitting on the advisory board for National Arts Council, National Library Board and Promote Mandarin Council. He was also one of the key organisers who produced the “Hands United… A Re-Building Project” music album, to raise funds for Tsunami victims in 2005.

In 2004, Danny first went on a specially-arranged trip to Malawi, South Africa, with 77th Street’s Elim Chew to visit HIV-positive children under the care of World Vision, during which he served the Singapore team as a photojournalist. Subsequently, he wrote articles and published photo stories about his experience. In 2009, Danny was appointed World Vision’s Goodwill Ambassador and went on a child sponsor trip to Mongolia. He also hosted the 30 HOUR FAMINE Camp in Ngee Ann Polytechnic in June 2011.

Today, Danny is proud to be a World Vision Child Sponsor with two kids in the Philippines and two kids in Mongolia.

Jack & Rai

Starting off as solo acoustic musicians more than a decade ago, Jack & Rai came together in 2002 to form an acoustic duo with a chemistry that borders telepathic. Their easy-going and engaging nature makes any audience feel right at home when watching them.

The need to explore their more creative side led them to put their heads together to launch their debut album 'In Stores Now!', that featured hit songs like 'The Fa La La Song' and 'Fiona'. Songs like 'Release Me' and 'Pixelated' were also used in World Aids Day campaigns in 2008 and 2009 respectively. 'Television Affair' was featured as the title track for a kids' talent show called 'Junior Jams'.

Since then, Jack & Rai have been busy performing all over Singapore and found themselves playing other roles as well... as the spontaneous duo that were radio guests on Class 95 FM for more than 2 years... occasional emcees, and songwriters, producers and composers of songs like 'As I Am' which was featured on Mediacorp 5's 'Red Thread', 'The Ground, which was the opening title for 'Polo Boys', as well as the soundtracks of OKTO series, like 'Schoolhouse Rockz: The Movie' and 'The Band'. All this while striving to maintain their status as one of the top performing acts in Singapore, whether as a charming duo, or as a rockin' band with their mates, in their 'alter-ego' band, EIC.

Jack & Rai have built their presence such that aside from appearing at their regular night gigs at bars, they've played numerous public and corporate events, at a plethora of venues in Singapore and the rest of South-East Asia, and earned themselves Elle Magazine's Musician's of the Year, as well as M:Idea Youth Choice's 'Band I Wanna throw myself at' in 2009.

They have been performing at World Vision’s 30 HOUR FAMINE Camp since 2004, and recently tried their hands at voice animation for World Vision’s Christmas campaign 2011. The fabulous duo sponsors a child from Vietnam whom they visited in November 2010.

Melody Chen

Born of English/Thai and Chinese parentage, Melody Chen began her acting career as a teenager in 1995 and is now an accomplished Singaporean actress and presenter with an impressive portfolio of television, film and hosting experience.

Best known for her debut lead acting performance in the popular Singapore film, “The Teenage Textbook Movie”, this multi-talented lass then went on to act in another film, “Street Angels” as well as many other English television dramas and sitcoms such as Ch 5’s “Spin” and “Happy Belly” and Ch 8’s Mandarin dramas, “I Am Lobang King” and “A New Life”.

With a spunky and fun-loving personality, hosting became a natural progression for Melody as she began presenting kids television programs, sports and lifestyle programs and online travel interactives.

Melody’s spontaneous and vibrant flair for hosting has also seen her emcee many successful events and product launches, both in Singapore as well as abroad. In addition, she has also performed in several theatre productions and provides professional commercial voiceovers for radio.

Melody’s determination to challenge herself physically and mentally has also seen her take part as a reality contestant in AXN’s very first “The Amazing Race Asia” as well as other sporting events in Singapore. Her latest challenge being a celebrity contestant in Asia’s first ice-skating reality competition, “Ice Star Asia“.

Recently, Melody completed co-hosting a new youth sports challenge program called “Game On” for Super Sports Arena in relation to the Singapore Youth Olympic Games and is now one of Singtel MIO Stadium 2010/11 BPL football presenters co-hosting “Tiger Goals On Sunday” with fellow anchor, Dominic Lau every Sunday. She also appears in a supporting role for Mediacorp Channel 5’s action-drama series “Point of Entry” playing “DSP Marianne Chong” which debut on December 2010.

Melody is married to her long-time friend, Randall Tan, who is also an actor and host in Singapore. They both live in Singapore with two adorable cats whom they rescued from the streets. Melody regularly hosts World Vision’s events and charms the audience with her sincerity and down-to-earth candor. She sponsors a girl from Bangladesh whom she visited in May 2010.
