Golfers with a heart

Avid golfers and friends of Rasa Sentosa Resort gathered for a day of fun in the sun, as they teed off for a good cause on 20th November last year.

It was the Rasa Sentosa Charity Golf Cup, an annual event that raises funds in support of various charitable causes.

World Vision is proud to be one of two beneficiaries for the 2009 Rasa Cup, which raised $30,000 towards the One Life Fund.

World Vision’s One Life Fund is an educational bursary scheme set up in December 2008. It specifically benefits children and youth in Singapore who are living with HIV/AIDS or whose parents are afflicted with the disease.

During the gala dinner, funds were raised through a hilarious charity auction led by Rasa Sentosa’s General Manager, Mr Ben Bousnina. Light-hearted humour filled the air as golf clubs, overseas vacations and a beautiful Piaget diamond necklace, amongst other items, were offered to guests for bidding.

One of the more novel auction items was a private chef experience with Rasa Sentosa’s very own 3-star Michelin chef. He would be whipping up a delicious 4-course meal for an exclusive dinner party in the winning bidder’s home.    

World Vision Singapore is deeply grateful for the wonderful support by Rasa Sentosa, and on behalf of the children and youth in Singapore who would be benefiting from the One Life Fund bursaries, here’s a big, heartfelt thank you!
