Australia born Jaymee Ong, 25, caught the attention of a famous Australian photographer at a hair salon at the age of 15. She soon began her modeling career that launched her as top Asian face in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. She was later spotted by Jackie Chan who signed her on to Media Asia in Hong Kong where she began her film career. Her debut film in Hong Kong is the very successful Gen X Cops, which starred A-listers Nicholas Tse, Daniel Wu and Stephen Fung and even boasted of a cameo by international action star Jackie Chan himself.These soon led to a lead role in the independent movie Rave Party which Jaymee established herself as a serious actress and film star. When she landed a cameo in the big budget international movie “Pearl Harbor”, Jaymee shifted her acting career to Hollywood which she scored many guest appearances in leading US TV series “Las Vegas” and “Entourage” and also starred in a couple of Hollywood movies. |
Now based in Singapore, Jaymee has co-starred with Sharon Au in the Channel 5 drama “Tiramisu” and is slated to host “The Big Dessert” for telecast on Channel 12 in August. She is also preparing to launch her new workout video in September and will be headlining an independent movie, starting shoot in September this year with a 2007 release. Jaymee is now the recognizable face of AXN and is currently hosting their “Ë-Buzz” programme. She is also an avid star blogger writing for The Straits Times online web portal STOMP.com.sg.
