Daimler Chrysler contributes winter wear for children and families in Mongolia

Ms Barbara Holzer, Senior Manager of Daimler Chrysler Regional Logistics Centre hands the gifts over to Michael Chiam, World Vision Singapore’s Gifts-In-Kind Manager.

Global automotive company, Daimler Chrysler whose product portfolio include renowned brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler amongst many, recently contributed a generous Gifts-in-Kind to World Vision International - Singapore.

The 46 cartons of donation, consisting an assortment of boutique apparels such as winter jackets, shirts and pants will go towards benefiting children and families living in especially difficult circumstances, a programme supported by World Vision in Mongolia.

“We are very pleased that our boutique apparel can reach out to a child-in-need in Mongolia through the assistance and matching of our goods from World Vision International - Singapore and are delighted with our relationship with them,” said Barbara Holzer, Senior Manager, Customer Management of Daimler Chrysler Regional Logistics Centre

GIK Jacket Provides Employment For Bayarsaikhan Forty year old
“When I see others wearing warm clothes I want to get clothes like them. I need these clothes because I cannot afford to buy them”, he continued. “I have to work outside in the cold, therefore it is vital that I have warm clothes, If I don’t have warm winter clothes I cannot do my work." he said.

Three Adults Share A GIK Jacket
Oyungerel, her sister and brother-in-law take it in turn to wear the GIK jacket which they received from WV because they cannot afford to buy one. They also received a shirt from World Vision. In the Ovorkhangai ADP there are many families who do not have warm winter clothing.

GIK Jacket Enables Enkhtor To Attend School
The life of Sarangerel and her family took a turn for the better when her child became sponsored by WV and when they received clothing from WV through the Gift-In-Kind (GIK) Project. Sarangerel also received a loan from the ADP so that she could start a shoe shop.
