Child health is needed … Now!
About the campaign launch

Why child health?

Did you know that each year, 9 million children all over the world risk their lives because they don’t have access to simple healthcare measures?

Deaths of children under the age of five are a silent emergency yet to be addressed.

Natural disasters attract the media and the public because they claim thousands of lives in a very short time.

But the death toll of children far exceeds disaster situations.

Since the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami that claimed 216,000 lives, the number of children dying before the age of five has risen over a figure of 40 million.

Not many know about the latter statistic.

If only adequate healthcare were made available to them, these children could have easily overcome diarrhea, malaria, maternal malnourishment and pneumonia – the top four causes of their deaths.

Today, an estimated 270 million children are living in what is known as a healthcare dessert, lacking access to fundamental health solutions.

We cannot stay silent for these children anymore.

Where are these children?

The majority of children under the age of five, who are dying, succumb to diseases and illnesses because they are poor. 99% of under-five deaths occur in developing countries.

These countries include: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, China, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

What are they dying of?

What do they need?

These solutions can cost as low as 60 cents.

Child health is needed... Now!

We cannot stay silent any longer.

Please join us as we reach out to help at least
6 million (or two-thirds of the 9 million) dying children each year to live beyond five. You can:

1. Help by contributing to Child Health Now
2. Share the Child Health Now cause
